Rattan material usually gets confused with bamboo. These, however, are two different materials. Bamboo is a hollow grass but rattan is a solid, vine-like plant that grows in tropical rainforests. The unique characteristics of rattan make it an ideal material for furniture. It offers strength and flexibility. Above all, it’s a sustainable resource. With the ability to regenerate quickly and not require much intervention to thrive, it’s easily the best eco-friendly alternative to wood.
At Reverattan, we strictly use the best materials to build our furniture. We carefully select the top two varieties for our frames (among 600 types). They are Rattan Tohiti and Rattan Manau. They are renowned for their durability and strength. They provide a solid foundation for every furniture piece of ours.
Our furniture’s style is defined by the way we intricately weave it. And for that, we rely on Rattan Peel (a rattan weaving material), also known as Rattan Skin. This material is derived from the first call variety of rattan called as Sega Rattan. Rattan peel’s natural shades provide a unique and organic touch to every piece. It exhibits the beauty of rattan in its purest form.
Beyond beauty, rattan also offers incredible strength. To provide comfortable seating and a strong structure, we use Lunty Rattan. It’s known for its flexibility and resilience. Lunty rattan can easily withstand weights of up to 150 kg. Thus, they tend to be the ideal choice for building sturdy and beautiful furniture.
Our indoor rattan furniture-making process involves another key material called Fitrit. It’s also known as Rattan Core. Extracted from Lunty Rattan, it comes in multiple sizes. To create the durable elements of our designs, fitrit has been our go-to choice. Such a versatile material helps us craft long-lasting furniture.
